[1000mp] Help with Microphone Selection

"I think I need to get a new microphone as the included MH-31 doesn't 
seem to be so good! . . . .  Here's what I'm thinking of:

"A used MD-100ABX
A Heil HM-10 with the HC-4 element
A HEIL GM witht he HC-4 element"

Chris - I have the GM5 Heil Goldline.  The stock mic gets equal reports.
I'll be interested in what others, with much more technical than I, might
say, but my thought is that there is something else wrong with your radio.
At least in my case, the included mic works fine on the Mark V.  Tom W6EIJ
