Has anyone added the NB mods recently posted to the va3cr.net site by
VK5EME? 
If so, what is your experience?

-> Yes, easy to do, works great.  The IMD products from the NB path were
gone after I tried it.

If I understand correctly, W8JI's mod turns off the NB when not in use,
where
these changes improve NB performance.

->  Yes, and no.  Yes, to my understanding and according to Tom, W8JI
(who is no slouch) it improves IMD performance with the NB off, by
biasing off the NB stage off so that it does not saturate and leak IMD
thru to the main Rx path.  It otherwise does not change the NB operation.
 VK5EME's changes do change the NB function, have not tried them.  That
again is my understanding.
