Being primarily an SSB contester, on SSB the 1000 with the mods is far superior to the 775. I used two 775s for SO2R for several years and now use two 1000MK Vs the same way. There is no horse race on these two. On CW and SSB, the 1000 wins hands down. Bill K4XS
