Hi Bob,

My FT-1000mp has all the basic modifications installed: key-click, NB, AGC,
etc., and the results justify the effort.

The INRAD roofing filter arrived late yesterday afternoon. I installed it
(and the companion "bonus" mod) and ran some on-air receiving tests last
night during the CQ 160m test.

It's only an anecdotal comparison at this point, but in several recent 160m
CW contests, I found that the mp was virtually useless due to severe IMD and
de-sense issues. There are several big nearby contest stations that put in
rather impressive (S9+60dB) signals here. By comparison, the Elecraft K2
worked flawlessly under the same conditions (shunt-fed tower to an A/B
switch). Last night and this morning I'd say it's a toss-up between the
modified mp and the stock K2. I can pick out the weaker signals within about
1-2 kHz of the big guns. (I wish these guys would do the key-click mod --
some of them are really nasty!)

Good luck with your Mk V.
