Hello Andy and the group,
 
About 5 years ago my FT-1000MP would only run 50 watts on 10 meters SSB but  
every other mode and band was correct.  I dropped the rig off at Amateur  
Electronic Supply and they worked on it an entire day and found that they needed  
to reload software from Yaesu, Yaesu evidently sent them the software.   
Seemed odd but they charged me $175.00 and the rig was fine. I bought a new  
FT-1000MP and sold the other MP a week later after I   A/B switched  between the 
receivers (one with INRAD IF mod and the other without.)
 
I have never heard of this problem manifesting it this way again, but I  
imagine it is well documented at Yaesu.  But think about it for a second,  what 
are the odds that a component failure would result in the rig having  exactly 50 
watts of output, maybe 35 watts or 80 watts, but exactly 50  watts???
