[1000mp] roofing filter and menu 9.1

Hello Bob:

On my Mark V, a reduction of 3 numbers in menu 9-1 brought parity to the S
meter, after checking the meter on 10 meters, with the tuned preamp on.

I used a signal of 50 microvolts, which gave a reading of S9 before the mod,
and about 15 DB over S9 following the mod.

In the end, I decided upon a reduction of 2 numbers only, which seemed to
produce the best signal to noise ratio, and enabled me to hear the very
weakest S0 stations best.

Today I regularly work S0 stations with no effort at all. What a
sensational improvement in the Mark V.

73 and Happy DXing,
