[1000mp] FT-1000MP panel switches not responding.

Hi John
Sorry to hear about the problem with the MP. When you say it draws 6 amps how are you measuring this and is this in rec with no signal?. 
Also there is a battery saver switch for the internal battery you replaced. Make sure it is in on position. Book says radio should be on when switched to on if it was off.
