[1000mp] Noise Blanker Mod for original FT-1000mp

Hi Augie -

I did my W8JI NB mod yesterday and I have the INRAD Roofing filter
installed. Did you see the photos of the W8JI NB mod on VA3CR's site?

The AGC does not have to be done on the MarkV. So that's it except if
I want to do the display mod on VA3CR's site.

Gud Luk in the 160 contest!

Hi Dick,

Yes, I've used that site often for mp information. However, I found that the
best description for noise blanker mod is on the following web page:

    http://www.w8ji.com/ft1000mk_v.htm

The Mk V IF board is identical to the original mp IF board, at least in the
areas of interest to me. I thank Ian, G3SEK, for pointing me in that
direction. I had previously done the key click mod for the mp that is
described elsewhere on the W8JI site, and that works very effectively.

The NB mod is now done, along with the INRAD AGC mod, and I'm looking around
for some big signals to test the results. At least I have done no detectable
harm to the rig, and next weekend's 160m contest will be the true test if
some of the local big guns get into it (they usually do). If INRAD shipped
on schedule, I hope to have the roofing filter installed by then as well.
