[1000mp] EDSP vs IF filters

You can, but you will find the AGC captured by signals that are nearby
but outside of the audible bandpass. The 250 hz filter pairs are hard
to beat for cw, rtty and (some) digital modes when there is much QRM or
when sigs are near the noise. Narrowing of the noise bandwidth
"upstream" helps the overall S/N ratio better than any of the provided
digital noise reduction algorithms do, IMHO.
