[1000mp] The 100-pound gorilla

I'm sure it will have a lot to offer but I'm always baffled by mfrs. who insist on including equalizers in their rigs. Anyone who wants an eq can/will go out and spend a few hundred bucks on one and it will always be vastly better than anything a mfr. sticks in a rig.
So the built in eq. never gets used because either the owner doesn't care about equalization, or cares, but therefore goes out and gets an IHY, Behringer, Symmtrix etc. The all in a box concept is appealing to people going on dxpeditions (less stuff to lug along) but in this case, who is going to pack a 100 lb. $14K rig?

I understand the new FT-DX9000 400-watt version will weigh in at close
to 100 pounds, making it the undisputed heavyweight champ. Also, it will
have features never before seen in hamdom, such as a built-in 5-band
parametric audio equalizer. Testing/evaluation is taking a long time,
and it looks as if it will be a stretch for Yaesu to be able to have
these rigs available for sale at Dayton.
