Marty,

I assume your comments were meant for me (Ed). To install the roofing filter
your wife will have to break into Fort Knox again, the same board where she
installed the filters. She does have to solder a couple of pins made with
the wire provided if you have the Mark V or Field. I have the plain vanilla
MP and the pins were already there. A problem I had was the need to cut
loose a bundle tie to release an existing cable conn which was a little
short. INRAD instructions explain all this. They will probably mail you the
instruction sheet if you request it. I'm 80 and was able to do it OK.
Initial impressions were good, but I haven't used it yet in crowded
conditions. Yes, you re-adjust, but that part is easy.

Good Luck & 73, Ed KE2MM

Hello all,

I had my wife install my two new 2.0 ssb filters on the second and third IF.
She said that it was like breaking into Fort Knox.. hi hi Ed, what is your
initial impression of the new Inrad Roofing filter. Do you think a non-ham
can do it ? My wife doesn't know how to solder, so if there is soldring to
be done, I will have to get my wife to drive me over to the local Motorola
Dealer. Do you have to re-adjust the IF on the Field ? Thanks to all and
73's.

Kindest regards,
Marty, W3QK
