[1000mp] Any 'smaller' substitution for 1000MP ?

I'd lay down the law and tell the wife the rig is going in the living
room. Otherwise, in order to avoid injury to yourself..... could you
hook up the computer to the MP and remote it? Other alternative would
be the Icom 746 PRO, I've heard some good things about it. The Icom
706 MKII is very compact, but the rx is not up to the MP and the Yaesu
FT-857 is also very compact, but again the rx is not the same level as
the MP. What kind of antennas are you using from your apartment?
By the way an advantage to the Icom 706 MKIIG and the FT-857 is that
they both cover 144 and 440 bands in addition to HF, something to think
about,
