Yes, Randy, you are one of the lucky ones...
My solution was to buy another, newer MP, hoping it will not exhibit that
problem, use it for the primary radio, and relegate my original radio to
radio #2.

I had the same experiene as Dale. Almost from the time I first turned on my
Mark V 2 years ago I was experiencing the itermittent desensing that would
require a tap of the PTT to restore. It would happen maybe every 10/15
times. Aggravation, YES but not enough to pack it up and send it off.
After 6 months it just stopped and has been solid ever since. My grounding
is to the groumd lug/wing nut which has never moved. Like Dale it seemed to
fix itself. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.
