Hello...
I had the same problem twice (MkV Field) and it was repaired
under guarantee at Yaesu Europe.
The first time it occur after about two month and the second time
it occurred after repairing again after 2 month.
The transceiver receiver was muted after switching von RX Antenna
to the main antenna. And also, sometimes when switching the VFR on and off.
During the failures it was always the relays RL1002, RL1005 at the RF-Unit.
Now I have no trouble since more than one year. I don't know what Yaesu did
at the repair works, but I disconnect now the antenna via a external antenna
switch from the transceiver, when I'm not operate it.
I believe, that may be electrical loadings from the antenna damaged the
relays over the time.
This issue is a real weak point of the MkV. And as I read long time this
list, it happen quite often.
Have a nice day....and a good an successful New Year!
