[1000mp] RF power

What does a VSWR of 100% mean?

If you are going through the antenna tuner (Tuner on) you can expect that
there will be a power reduction that is not measured by the FT1000MP meter.
In such cases you will see one power reading on the rig meter and a
different, lower reading on the meter between the transmitter and the dummy
load (you are sending the power to a dummy load when you measure aren't
you?)

The reading of 80 watts suggests a loss of 0.97 dB from the original 100
watts. Something that will NOT be detected by listeners. As a result, unless
you have the necessary equipment and Service Manual to check the meter and
adjust its calibration and be certain of the actual output (without the
tuner) of the finals, it may be the smart thing to do to make a
'psychological' adjustment to get yourself to say, "don’t sweat the small
stuff".
