[1000mp] Important question

Yuri:
In the spring, I left my MK V connected to my high dipole as a nasty snow squall came thru. The precipitation static was very strong. I was at a ballgame practice during the storm and was unable to disconnect. When I returned, I entered the shack and noted that the receiver was dead. I had determined that Q6451 (2SD667D) on the tuner main unit had blown open. When I ordered a replacement from Mouser, this part was available in both a low and high VCE max version. I immediately wondered if Yaesu had installed the lower voltage version. I replaced it with the higher Vce max part, and since then no problems. I am careful though to disconnect the antenna when a storm comes thru. I am not sure this is your problem, but I thought I'd mention it.

way in terms of isolation.

I have 80 and 160 m antennas very close to each other (within 20 feet
probably) and I use BPF's on each radio. Still blew the front end on one of
the MPs Mark V (80 m ) while operating the other one barefoot on 160... I
just wonder if adding stubs would help?
Thanks.
