[1000mp] FT-1000MP Mark-V/Field and FT-847 to be discontinued

Art,

money spent on new antennas probably always trumps a new rig for 
overall enjoyment.
however new toys in the shack have more glitz don't they.
Antennas are like buying vegetables--they are good for you but not real 
sexy.
New rig is like  a fruit basket--lots more fun and colors to look at, 
at first, but low on vitamins  and overall improvement for the long run.
selling aluminum hardware to stick outside and get hit by lightning is 
like trying to get hams to buy spinach.
