If you work any CW, the most important mod is the W8JI key click mod.

You might want to consider the INRAD front end mod, especially if you
operate CW, to reduce the annoying IF hiss in the audio.  The mod also
enhances the ability to dig those weak ones out of the noise.

If the noise blanker level knob is not fully CCW, the IMD3 of the main
receiver is degraded even if the NB is turned off.  There's a mod to
correct this problem.  I think the details are on the W8JI Web site.
