[1000mp] Blown fuse

Just the facts from the Electronics Mfg's Trade Association. Can apply to
anything. The FT1000MP Field runs on 120 Vac, the PS for the Mark V runs on
120 VAC and yes there are fuses.
Another thing being discussed in Automotive Mfg circles is sealing and
locking of auto fuse blocks to prevent fires.......
As to the 1/8 amp fuse spoken of, what if it was replaced with a piece of 12
ga wire and something happened in the acc line ext to the radio and there
was no protection in the radio. Fire, smoke, heart attack for the operator,
XYL, friend etc. The potential is there and the MFG's are making things as
fool proof as possible to protect their butts.....
FYI Wal-Mart is the largest retail chain in the world and the most sued in
the world. People have opened up hair driers and replaced the safety fuse
with a piece of wire and caused fires, so who gets sued?? First WM and then
the MFG.
I have sat in as a witness in cases for firms other than WM..... It
happens...... Juries tend to think of the company as the big bad rich and
the moron that caused the problem in the first place gets the award..

But the fuse he is referring to is the 1/8? amp fuse for the 12V accessory
jack. The main fuse is accessable on the back panel. (I hope we don't
hurt ourselves)
