Other than removing the covers, you only have to solder two small wires,
each about an inch
long, between the roofing filter board and the Field's xtal filter pcb. You
don't have to remove
the xtal filter board to attach the two wires. Another option is below:

The original MP had connector pins already soldered in this location so the
IF mod or Roofing
Filter board would just plug in on those units. Those connector pins were
left out on the Mark V
and Field versions. When I sold my MP a few years ago and bought a Mark V,
I ordered the
connector pins from Yaesu and installed them on the pcb so my IF mod could
be plugged in
as it was on the MP. Luckily, now I can just unplug the IF mod and plug in
my Roofing filter.
Those pin connectors were less than a dollar.

Subject: [1000mp] INRAD MP Roofing Filter Mod

I'm going to purchase the INRAD Roofing filter mod. but I wanted to clarify
installation procedure. Is the board simply a plug and play on the Mark V
"Field" or do I have to do some rig disassembly, board removal and
soldering?

The details on the INRAD website are not clear to me so any input would be
much appreciated.
