Thomas:

I have done the Inrad front end mod the 70Mhz board. On my Mark V Field you have to open take off all the outside case and turn it over to access the underside boards. On the IF board you solder 2 short #28 wires and then take off the insulation. This was the hard part. The opening up of the case is just tedious. Using a good static grounded temp controlled soldering iron is recommended. Once the wires are soldered you insert the plastic standoffs and plug in the board. beign carefull to engage the wires you just soldered in. This is a little tricky but with patience it will come out ok put on the nylon nuts and button up the case. If I can do it then I assure you any one can.

I have just received the roofing filter and will swap out the front end mod this weekend. Since I did the front end mod already I just remove it and insert the roofing filter, of course the opening of the case has to be done. Go for it, not as difficult as it is to write. I did this with a radio under warranty !!!

73 and good luck

Hank / KR7X
