Hello
I am sure that you have not the sub receiver on the soundcard.
If you put the subreceiver on it you can see your signal on cwget and it
decodes it.
I have a switch and i can see that when the switch of the subreceiver is
off, cwget can't see my signal. Otherwise it see it.

Subject: [1000mp] CW Decoding
I am trying to get back into CW, although never really was in it to start
with. One of the things I want to work on is my sending. On the Mark V
when you are in the CW mode you can "send" and hear your signal over the
speaker. So I thought it would be easy to put a microphone over the speaker
and let the program decode my sending. My logic was if the program can
decode it correctly then a human or another program can decode it equally as
well. So I've been trying to figure out how to do it for the past few weeks
and haven't had any luck. The only one where I got anything was Hamscope,
but it gave noise when there was no sound in the room at all so I tried
others. I tried CWGet. It would show the signal but it never would decode
it even when I made sure the line was on my "signal". It worked "fine" for
real signals. The other day someone on here mention CWDecoder and I went
and found it and couldn't get it to do anything, including showing the
signal. Bottom line the microphone over the speaker doesn't work. Anybody
have any other ideas?
So does anybody have any ideas? For what it is worth I plan to do the
copying, not some program, which is another big reason it is taking so long
to get back into this. I have used the two programs above to listen to some
code while I practiced copying it. More than once I heard one character
and the program would some something different. So I still go by the old
thing that you can't beat the human ear for pulling the signal out of the
noise.
Also for those who are into CW I have not made THE mod yet and the biggest
reason is so far I haven't really done anything on the air. When it gets
tot the point that I have enough confidence to get on the air with it and I
plan to stick with it, then I will consider it. Until then, it isn't worth
the time or trouble.
Thanks,
Bob
