[1000mp] Mrk V Field Vibrating/Noisy fan

The cooling fan is screwed to a mounting bracket with rubber grommets to
help dampen the vibration.
It's possible that whoever repaired the radio, tightened the mounting screws
too tight. The screws
should be tightened just enough to take up any slack and a little dab of
loctite or nail polish on the ends
to keep them from vibrating loose.

Subject: [1000mp] Mrk V Field Vibrating/Noisy fan
Hello all,
I did a little research and haven't seen this asked so here goes.
I have a Mark V Field which was recently sent in for some repairs. I opted
to send it back to the "point of purchase vendor" instead of Yaesu. While
I'm happy with the repairs, something I notice now is that the cooling fan
seems to vibrate much more (I can actually feel it in the desk) and be a
noticeably noisier than it was prior to the repair - almost as if it's out
of balance.
Before cracking the covers off I was wondering if anybody might have
experienced this before or have an idea or what to look for.
Thanks,
Kelly - N0VD
