INRAD sells a 6KHZ filter that probably has much better skirts than what's
in the Field.

Subject: [1000mp] Is there a better AM filter?
I have had my Mark 5 Field for a couple years now and I am getting more
interested in Short-wave listening. The stock 6000 Hz AM filter is
rather poor and usually lets in a lot of high-pitched noise that is a
lot wider then 6000 Hz. When you turn on the AM EDSP demodulator it
does limit the pass band to a reasonable width but it creates a lot of
distortion for some reason only on AM.
I would like to replace the tiny stock 6 kHz filter with a quality
filter with steeper skirts.
I would welcome any ideas or discussion on this subject.
Thanks!
