[1000mp] Re: ATU reset on MP

Dear Vidi:
The limited ATU memory is tightly linked to the associated
frequency. If one asserts the tuner "at" a frequency previously used,
it appears that the old data is just replaced.

I mark on a card the frequencies that I have used with the ATU
(since the last time that I had to clear everything because the ATU
memory was full). When a need arises once again to use the ATU in a
frequency range, I make sure that the dial has the same specific
frequency in the range as the frequency that I used the last time.
If the hypothesis is correct, this should insure that the ATU memory
does not fill. In the regions where it is likely to have rapidly
changing antenna impedances (such as 80 meters), one might select two or
three frequencies. On some bands, one frequency is likely to be
sufficient.
This was discussed some time ago. Perhaps someone else now has
enough experience to add to the understanding of the issue. 73

P.S. It is nice to have a name and call associated with a question.
