[1000mp] IF Mod Installed

Why bother with the S meter? On my MP, nothing moves it until about S5, and
it only shows a semblance of decent response above S9. Even if you calibrate
50uV=S9 on 14250, it will be something else on the other bands. IMHO, S
meters are only useful for comparative measurements, i.e. "bigger" or
"smaller."

Just put the covers back on the Mark V and what a noteworthy difference the
70 MHz IF Amplifier Mod makes. The rig is very pleasing to listen to without
the hiss. Should have done this much earlier but did not realize it would be
that dramatic. Geez and I thought my K2 has a very low noise level!

Now I need to adjust the S meter.
