On the Mark V when operating PSK you obiviously need the PKT button pressed. But if you are using multimode software that can do PSK, CW and RTTY what should you do there? Keep the radio in PKT or switch it to CW or RTTY to match the mode?
I have been playing with HamScope simply because it is multimode. I've noticed that in all the different programs that the PSK works pretty much the same way. So I figured that I would get a multimode program and learn PSK there and then if/when I want to go to another mode I wouldn't have to learn new software.
Also since I am going from Line Out (on the sound card) to Data In on the Packet plug and Data Out to Line In. That these connections are direct. I am using a simple circuit to do the PTT and this works. It was suggested that I get one of the interfaces to ge between the computer and rig. Any suggestions there what works best with the Yaesu?
Thanks and 73s
Bob
