No, it is not ... it is better for software authors to write 
code to allow use of LSB (which happens to be the standard 
for digital modes going back to early RTTY) through the PKT 
jack. 

The PKT jack permits selection of the proper receive filters, 
the use of high tones which are significantly less like likely 
to cause harmonic induced spurious signals, and muting the 
microphone so that shack noises (including VHF rigs, blowers 
and computer sounds) are not transmitted along with the 
digital modes. 

If one *MUST* use USB, use the user mode with Yaesu's "USB 
packet for Mars" settings:
