Thanks to the folks on the list who have replied directly to me and
via the relector for your help with this. I have bookmarked the VA3CR
site and the wealth of info that is there.

It looks like I will implement the 22K / 3.3K suggestion as all I
want is a button to push when changing bands at 3:00AM during a contest.
As I mentioned to one of the folks, being a grouchy old curmudgeon, I
want to keep it as simple as possible.

TNX again for the help,

Rick, W6RKC

If all you need is the "tune" function, 22k + 3.3k in series will do it.
Menu 4-3 sets the power level for tuning.

My Paragon, OMNI-V & OMNI-VI+ all have a nice little button called TUNE.

Want to adjust an antenna tuner or amplifier? Push the TUNE button, adjust,
push the TUNE button again to deactivate. Easy.

Where is the TUNE button for my Field? The only reference I can find is in
the manual on page 78. To quote: " Pressing the [TUNE] key activates a
transmitted carrier for as long as the key is held in, this is useful for
adjustment of a linear amplifier or external antenna tuner, or for antenna
comparisons over the air."

However, this key is on the FH-1 remote control keypad.

I can't believe that I have to spend another $100 for an accessory to get a
TUNE key. Surely, there must be a way to activate this without the FH-1.
Can someone please point out what I am missing in this interpretation.

Tnx & 73,

Rick, W6RKC
