[1000mp] Sticking relay problem- Not just a Yaesu problem

I, like the vast majority of FT-1000 series owners, have not experienced the
"sticky relay" problem, but Yaesu is not the only manufacturer with this
problem. My Kenwood TS-2000 exhibited the same symptoms. This problem was
almost certainly RF-related and cured itself with a reorginazation of the
shack and antennas.
I wonder if this problem is related to strong RF fields in and around the
rig or possibly related to using an amplifier somehow? The person I know who
has a "sticky relay" has the capability of running the legal limit++ and I'd
assume W0UN's rig, coming out of a contest station, might have been exposed
to high levels of RF? My rig, which hasn't exhibited this problem, is only
exposed to modest levels of RF (less than 1kW) and has always been
interfaced to my amp through an isolating relay. Maybe it would be useful to
know if the rigs exhibiting the "sticky relay" have been exposed to legal
limit (or more) power levels or have been interfaced to an amplifier without
an isolating relay.
Just a thought...
