[1000mp] MP Relays (non issue here)

Before we have to wade through 500 testimonials about MP's that work
correctly, might we consider an analogy to human diseases? Are we not more
concerned about those in the population who are sick than those who are
well? If one observes that a certain medical condition occurs ten times per
hundred physician visits, is it necessary to document the 90 cases out of
100 where there is no pathology?
To me, a message that says "mine works" conveys as much useful information
as a steady carrier.

S'pose I'll toss in my notes as well. I have an early 1998 model, and
except for a rather strange PLL lock issue that affected CW when the rig
was 3 weeks old (returned to Yaesu, they could not reproduce, I've not
had the symptoms return since) the rig has been trouble free. I use all
modes, operate on average 3 times a week, do occasional extended contest
sessions and no sticky relay symptoms to date. I do have the occasional
"wait" for the display to fire up on cold mornings, but the wait is
usually 3-5 seconds at most when it occurs, not the extended periods
some list member have noted.
