Be careful with a very narrow roofing filter.  I haven't looked at the 
schematic, but a roofing filter would undoubtedly come ahead of the noise blanker.  
Narrow filters cause noise pulses to be stretched out, tearing big holes in 
the received signal.  So if you live in an area where the noise blanker is 
important to your sanity, a very narrow roofing filter may not be the best idea.
