[1000mp] Bad relays?

Hi Group...

I remember seeing this discussed briefly after I first joined the list, but
could use a little refreshing.

I have a Mrk V Field that is right at a year old. During the ARRL 10m
contest in December I experienced the situation when I would unkey the
radio after either a CQ or QSO and the RX would be almost non-existent. A
"click" of the footswitch would bring the RX back where it should be. This
happened several times during that contest, but it wasn't too
annoying. The problem seemed to have cured itself, until this weekend.

Saturday afternoon I had a decent opening to JA so I decided to get a run
going. That's when this problem really showed up. Nearly 1/3 to 1/2 of
time after I would unkey, the RX was nearly dead. I'd tap the footswitch
and it would pop back in. Let me tell you, that really gets on your
nerves! I managed to limp along to finish out the contest but I guess I
need to have this fixed.

Can anybody shed some light on the reason for the relay failure (I'm
assuming the the RX/TX relays) and what it takes to get fixed? The *real*
question is whether or not I can get it fixed under warranty. I think I
just passed my 1 yr anniversary about 10 days ago. Uuugh.

Thanks,
Kelly - N0VD
