Hi everyone on the reflector.
I have owned a original FT1000mpdc for 2 years now, date of manufacture 1996.
I've always had a problem with the inbuilt electronic keyer..................When i switch the rig on from cold the keyer invarably does not work, the dodge i use is to switch the rig off and then switch the rig back on again within a couple of seconds, the keyer then work's.  If the time between switch off and switch on is longer than a couple of seconds the keyer again fails to operate.
It seems to me that the keyer is failing to fire up when it's ( own ) supply appears quickly.
If this is the case then a large capacitor in the keyer dc supply could solve the problem ?????
I have phoned Yaesu UK and the engineer i spoke to has never heard of this.
Anybody with any suggestions ????
