[1000mp] Mark V DSP.Audio or IF DSP?

I have operated the original PRO, the PRO 2 (now) and a 746 PRO (now) since
2000 with never a second's problem with any of them. A lot of loose talk
floats around the reflectors greatly over-exaggerating the few 746PRO
failures that have occurred. To my knowledge, the PRO 2 has NO issues,
despite a recent thread on another list concerning cabinet temperature.
Operation on 60 meters is outside the design capabilities of the PRO II and
any problems that result should not be charged to the original design or
implementation.
As to display problems, again with three PROs no problems here or among any
of my friends who use these radios. There have been a few reported "lines in
the display" issues but any LCD screen in any computer comes with the
proviso that there may be some defective pixels in the manufacturing
process.
As with the Yaesu radios, it is easy for reflector "rumors" to start up and
grow exponentially when one or two folks report a problem.
Both companies make fine radios - some of us prefer one make, others prefer
the other make. Luckily, we have a choice . . .
