Could be...

I'm Only 40 but have been into radio since I was a kid building Crystal
sets and listening to old glow in the dark (Tube) radios.

(I miss the sound of the old tubes, just something about them.)

I have to say I really like the sound of the Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark V
Field.

I have a nice set of Sennheiser Headphones and they really show off the
rig (especially with with the main receiver in one ear and the sub in
the other) The signals just come right up out of the noise and it is
spacial so that your brain picks them "out of space".

I'll hand a visitor the headphones and have them listen to a signal on
the main receiver then I hit the dual receive button and watch there
surprise as they hear the difference.
