It shouldn't do that, not even in the SSB mode. The only thing I can
think of is that the THRU "filter" is engaged. It might pay to check
your xtal filter configuration setup.

Your Field should be better than your Pro -- My MP is about 6 dB better
than my Pro2 in the IMDDR3 category and better than that in the BDR
category.

Also make sure your NB is turned off and the NB gain is all the way CCW,
although a moderately strong (S9) signal shouldn't be a problem even with
the NB gain fully CW (and the NB off).
