Maybe it's time for someone to come up with a mod, other than 
redistributing the gain in the IF chain, as the Inrad mod does.  Or maybe 
that's the best that can be done.  It would sure be nice if someone 
discovered that it was coming from someplace fixable, like the noise 
blanker IMD issue.
