Rick why not just eliminate the antenna tuner??
solid state amps and antenna tuners hmmmm
also if he has the 1000mp turn off the internal antenna tuner in the menu
if the swr is that high and you are trying to tune you can be working
against yourself between two antenna tuners assuming both are on as in the
case of a 100mp.
I use a nye viking for wire
In anycase continue to use the ordered approach you are advising.
