[1000mp] No receive on Mark V

I have experienced the "no receive audio" problem twice on my Mark V field because of power mains surges, brownouts and brief blackouts. I got the audio back by doing the complete reset. In any event I placed the rig on an APC-350 UPS because the rig in a sense is a computer and have had no further problems.
Also you can lose receive audio if you are using the RTTY or Packet DIN jacks on the back of the radio for the digital modes. The supplied DIN plugs fit rather loosely in the jacks and you can lose contact and therefore audio. Every once and a while I lose audio and have to jiggle the Packet plug and the audio comes back. My cats like to play with the wires!!!

I have had the no receive problem on my brand new mark V
twice now. Where all you get is white noise on all bands but
there is good 200W power output on xmit. Both times it was
for different blown components in the tuner. The first time it
was 2 diodes and a transistor. and the second time it was just
two blown transistors. Since then it hasnt happened again.
Even though mine is under warranty, it still costs plenty to ship it
to Calif. Plus a few weeks turn around. Good luck Frank w7is
