[1000mp] Key Clicks Solution?

The Mod really is not that bad the hard part is getting out the RF
Board to put the cap on the bottom of it.

I did a modified Inrad Key Click Mod on my FT01000 Mark-V Field.

Put the .1 mf cap on the RF Board, but instead of Paralleling the .047
with another .047 on the IF board I just removed the .047 and put a .1
mf parallel with a 100 k on the IF Board.

Before the mod the rise was about 3ms and the fall about 1, After the
mod the rise is about 4 and the fall is about 3 still not the
recommended 5ms from the ARRL Handbook but better.

I may go back in and Tweak the value of the resistor to see if I can
get it to 5ms.

I have Before and After Scope Pics if you would like to see.

While I was in there I also did the NB mod.

To remove the Old part just grab it with a needle nose pliers and twist
is as you desolder it.

Good Luck.

PS: Half the fun of ham radio is Modding and Customizing your
equiptment, with out that it might as well just be CB with CW.
