[1000mp] S-meter problem with new FT 1000 MP Mark 5 Field

Hi,

a friend of mine recently got his brand new Mark 5 Field. When he turned it 
on, everything looked ok... sensitivity etc. But at a closer look the 
s-meter of the main receiver was not working.  The main receiver was 
working proberly. A comparison with the sub-receiver yielded no results. 
Received audio sounded the same (same S/N ratio). There was just no s-meter 
indication.

VRF is turned off and the correct antenna is connected (otherwise the 
sub-receiver test would not have been successfull). LEDs are working. When 
you turn the RF gain knob the bar fills itself up.

We also tried a total reset. Was not successfull.

Somebody suggested that the s-meter calibration is somehow "busted". Is 
that easy to do? If found a google-link with some comments about that but 
the procedure itself was not decribed.

What do you think what he can do with his new trx?
