Hi Steve,

Right from the op manual:

The SPOT tone volume 
can be adjusted using the SIDETONE potentiometer,
accessible on the rear panel of the transceiver).

I keep a PDF file of the operator's manual for quick lookups.  It's
available at www.yaesu.com under the File menu when you look up the rig.
