I have been looking at two writeups on this mod and the part about R1 =
and R2 is a bit confusing. In both articles the two resistors are shown =
to be variable resistors on the schematics. In the article at =
www.w8ji.com/keyclick_mp.htm on the last page and paragraph he says that =
R1 and R2 are the only critical components and that the value for R1 is =
from 120K to 470K and for R2 it is 1K to 10K.
If you read his article at http://www.w8ji.com/ft1000mk_v.htm he states =
that the value of R1 is a fixed resistor of 680K and that R2 is also a =
fixed resistor of 22K.
If you notice the fixed values mentioned in paragraph two are outside =
the ranges for the same two resistors said to be so critical in =
paragraph one. Makes things a bit confusing. Besides with the variable =
resistors I have been trying to figure out how the heck to adjust them =
for their proper settings. I own an scope MANY years ago, but not only =
is it long gone I don't have access for one anymore either. Of course, =
I won't even montion that I would have no clue where the heck to connect =
it or how to make the adjustments.
Any clues? Need to get all this figured out before I plug in that 200W =
soldering gun and melt half the components on the board.
