I ended up buying the 400 hz Inrad, for the NYD discount.  In reading the
posts, which have been very informative btw, I'm wondering whether people
are varying the CW center frequency from the standard 800 hz.

When I bought my Mark V, October 2002, I got the Yaesu narrow ssb filters.
Even with those, it takes some tuning of at least the shift control (almost
always to the 10 or 11 O'clock position) to get audio sound.  Tom W6EIJ
