[1000mp] What happened?

Yesterday, I switched on the MP (Mk1) and found the VFO A display 
flashing, the receiver muted and the CAT link dead both ways. Both VFOs 
would tune, and the menu system worked, but the MOX wouldn't put the 
radio into transmit.

After various power-downs and power-ups, and unplugging the CAT link, 
the display stopped flashing and transmit was re-enabled, but still the 
receiver was muted. When I turned off the EDSP, the receiver came to 
life.  According to the menus, all the EDSP settings looked normal, but 
the EDSP button would only mute and un-mute the receiver. After a few 
more power down-up cycles, it came back to normal.

Although everything has remained normal since yesterday, I'm a 
worrier... I don't want that to happen again during a contest or a 
DXpedition pileup!

Any idea what might have happened, please? Was it probably an isolated 
event due to some random mains glitch, or do these symptoms fit any kind 
of familiar pattern?
