I had a great repair experience with the contact below. It was Kenwood but
he told me about a 1000 he repaired with lightening damage. So, he has some
experience and was cost affordable.

Subject: [1000mp] Ft 1000 MP

I was wondering if anyone had any idea weather or not the 1000mp I have
would be worth reapairing. We ha a storm around here yesterday and this
morning when I went to turn on the radio the readout went to 7.0000 and
started counting backwards to .100. None of the controls workand only a few
other lites lit up. Basically I have no control over any of the functions of
the radio. I am not looking for any tech help just a few opinions as to the
feasability of repair and if it will work the same way it did before the
accident?? Thanks for any opinions from the group I can get.
