[1000mp] Elecraft XG1.

I purchased the Elecraft Receiver Test Oscillator, XG1, which is a kit, and
quite small - it has two outputs at 50 ohms, -73 dBm and -107 dBm.  I used
it to set the IF gain for an S-9 signal.  I came out to a "9"
Interestingly, the tuning of the IF gain was very sharp, i.e., one unit
changed the S-meter one unit.  Using my HP-606A, If gain values of 8 - 10, I
believe, all gave an S-9.  With the XG1, an IF gain value of 8 gave an S-8.
This little kit is quite easy to build, and sure convenient to operate.  Tom
