[1000mp] How to Access the 9 Series Menus

FT1000MP MkV - I want to access the 9 series menus on my Mark V. I've had a
couple of suggestions to do the following, which hasn't worked,

1 - Hold down the FAST and LOCK buttons and turn the main power switch off.
2 - While continuing to hold the FAST and LOCK buttons (under the VFO A
knob) turn on the power switch.
3 - Rotate the VRF knob in the upper right hand corner to change to the
specific 9 series menu.

Well, after a master CPU reset and lots of messing around, all I get upon
the power up sequence is a completely normal display. All the "normal" menus
documented in the operators manual work fine, as does the radio.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
