[1000mp] No Clicks on Field

I got my Field in December 03. It was
manufactured in August of 2002 and it clicked.
When I tuned across the signal with another
receiver I could hear a very distinct and sharp
edge to the signal. Tune just past the signal on
both sides and I could hear the receiver sharply
detune in time with my Field's CW signal. I did
the InRad mod and the clicks are gone to my ear.
I've learned from this list that they are only
reduced but it is much better.
In fact the clicks of the 1000MPs are so distinct
I swear I can tell it from other radios. I was
tuning on 80m last night and I heard a big signal
just off my listening frequency. As I tuned up to
his signal I could hear his very distinct clicks.
I looked him up in QRZ and he has a web page. It
turns out he's a big big gun contester (4 towers)
and he has 2 1000MPs. Maybe it's a benefit to a
contester. This isn't the first time I've guessed
a 1000MP's signal.

Subject: [1000mp] No Clicks on Field
I have a MK5 Field and despite considerable
testing I cannot detect any abnormal key clicks. I
can hear them, but only along the very edge of my
transmitted signal, about 100 cycles in either
direction.
My testing has been with 2 different receivers,
wide and narrow filters, strong and weak signals.
I have heard real key clicks and I know what they
sound like but I just cannot detect them on my
field.
My rig was manufactured in July '02 and purchased
in May '03. I suspect that Yaesu may have
corrected the problem on the newer Fields. Has
anybody else tested newer models of the Field?
